PRESS HOUSE
Press House is a nine-storey affordable housing scheme forming part of a wider residential development in London. Delivered by GTH Architects for Henry Construction, the building is constructed using a Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panel superstructure set above a reinforced concrete podium deck. The project required extensive technical coordination and collaboration across multiple disciplines, with Building Information Modelling (BIM) employed to integrate structure, services, and façade systems before CLT fabrication commenced.
While employed at GTH Architects, I was assigned as the project architect responsible for leading the construction coordination. My role involved liaising with engineers, consultants, and contractors, developing and reviewing detailed construction drawings, overseeing site progress, and ensuring that all works were executed in line with the approved design and specifications.
The project provided valuable insight into the delivery of large-scale housing and the integration of sustainable timber technologies. It strengthened my understanding of digital coordination processes, construction management, and the collaborative effort required to translate design intent into built form.
